This course is open to everyone, whatever your age or level of experience. It is a one-day oil painting course held at Makers Yard, Frome.

All materials are provided, including oil paints, primed boards, easels, and brushes. All you need to bring is an apron and an open mind.

During the day, you will learn how to set up for oil painting and how to translate what you see into paint. Using vessels and fruit as our subject matter, you will develop your observational skills and gain confidence in creating a strong composition. You will explore expressive brushwork and learn the basics of colour mixing and working with limited palettes.

By the end of the day, you will leave with two finished paintings and the confidence to continue painting in oils at home.

A simple vegetarian lunch, fruit, cake, and refreshments are included.
